scales of justice

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - In a recent announcement, the Missouri Supreme Court revealed that Judge Mary R. Russell has been elected for a second two-year term as the court's chief justice.

This past weekend, Judge Russell officially took over from Judge Paul C. Wilson, who will continue serving on the court.

Judge Russell, hailing from a dairy farm in Ralls County, brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as chief justice from 2013 to 2015.

After being appointed to the Court of Appeals Eastern District in 1995, she was later elevated to the Supreme Court by Governor Bob Holden in 2004. Her legal education was completed at the University of Missouri.
