Catfish Chasers Tournament in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - There will be some fierce fishing action as the Missouri River gears up to host the annual Catfish Chasers Tournament this weekend. More than 250 anglers from various states will be attending the Saturday and Sunday event in St. Joseph.

Saturday will see boats set off at 5 p.m., casting lines at 7 p.m., followed by Sunday's 9 a.m. weigh-in at the French Bottoms ramp area near the Remington Nature Center.

Winners will get a 2023 Chevy pickup. Organizers add if the champions hit 210 pounds or more, they bag a new Cat boat. According to a press release, the estimated economic impact of this weekend event to St. Joseph is $150,000.
