MARYVILLE, Mo. - The city of Maryville has secured over $1 million in state grants for transformative projects.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development has unveiled plans for a new visitors center at Mozingo Lake Recreation Park, receiving $311,000 in funding.

This cutting-edge facility will encompass offices, retail space, and public amenities, constructed in collaboration with students from Northwest Technical School.

Additionally, a vibrant transformation is coming to the heart of downtown Maryville with the Downtown Pedestrian Alleyway Project. This initiative is backed by nearly $768,000 in grants.

It aims to revitalize the alley between Fourth and Fifth streets, creating a pedestrian-friendly space adorned with moveable seating, artistic murals, and unique lighting.

City Manager Greg McDanel envisions a bustling hub of activities, enhancing the city's charm.
