Dove hunting season to begin in MO

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation has a reminder for dove hunters.

Not only does dove season in Missouri kick off tomorrow, but specific MDC areas are designated for dove hunting with non-toxic shot only.

For areas like sunflower fields in Kansas City and the northwest region, non-toxic shot is crucial to protect birds from lead ingestion.

Make sure to check the regulations for the conservation area you plan to hunt, as some areas require nontoxic shot for all types of hunting with shotguns. Dove season will last through Wednesday, Nov. 29.

To find the full list, check out M-D-C's "Migratory Bird and Waterfowl Hunting Digest" booklet available at MDC offices or online at mdc.mo.gov.
