MDC talks rehabilitation of Bilby Conservation Area

NODAWAY COUNTY, Mo. - It's early, according to nature's timetable, but prairie grasses and wildflowers are reclaiming sod in one part of Nodaway County.

The Missouri Department of Conservation is restoring 600 acres of the Bilby Conservation Area into the type of natural wildlife habitat that once covered most of northwest Missouri.

Media specialist for the MDC Bill Graham says the project will benefit the county and area as a whole.

Graham says the M-D-C's goal is to have it look as if it might have been in the early 1800s.
