ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified a 70-year-old Trimble man that died in a Buchanan County crash.

The Patrol says Mark Smith was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 on U.S. Highway 169 near MO Highway 31.

At 7:33  a.m. Monday, the Patrol says a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by 21-year-old Caitlin McComas of Easton, pulled into the path of the F-150.

The Fusion struck the passenger side of the F-150, causing the F-150 to skid and overturn, ejecting Smith.

Smith, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene nearly 30 minutes later. McComas suffered minor injuries. No other details have been released.
