ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - There's a disease sweeping Northwest Missouri that has tar spots showing up on corn two weeks after a fungicide is applied.
Field Specialist in Agronomy with the University of Missouri Extension Office Wayne Flanary says that the heat we've experienced lately is slowing the pathogen down, but there are still so many unknowns regarding the disease.
If tar spots are found, mark plants so you can re-scout and determine the speed in which the disease is increasing.
