ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - An annual downtown festival is bringing bluegrass back to St. Joseph this weekend.

The 14th annual Bluegrass Bettering Our Community, which benefits the Second Harvest Community Food Bank, kicks off at 6 p.m. this evening, as well as tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.

Rigby Summer will start this year's festival, followed by Teri Quinn, and Kristin Hamilton and the Heat.

As for tomorrow, a student showcase will start things followed by Rabble in Arms, Old Sound, Moonshroom and a finale by the Whiskey Mash Band.

Food and drink vendors will be on site and a curated selection of local artisans will have items available for purchase. Money donations for Second Harvest will also be accepted at the event.

Organizers say that they're looking forward to this year's event because it's always well attended.
