Chautauqua in the Park happening this weekend

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - The 38th annual Chautauqua in the Park happens this weekend at Simpson Park in Chillicothe.

The annual event is back tomorrow and Sunday with over 100 booths. Classic activities are also returning to the event, such as woodcarving, pottery, basket weaving, and more.

Coordinator for the Traditional Arts Area at Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce Zelma Cleaveland says there is one new event this year called the Writers' Corner.

Other new events taking place this weekend are papermaking and soap felting with many other new things to enjoy. Organizers want to thank Green Hills Communications for their support.
