CLARINDA, Iowa - Thousands will be heading to Clarinda this weekend for the city's longest musical radiation.

The 68th annual Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree takes place Saturday and draws over 50 schools from Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska every year.

The school bands are judged in both parade and field marching in the nearly day-long competition. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the parade around the downtown square in Clarinda.

The field competition will take place at 12:45 p.m. at the Clarinda High School football stadium. Visitors will be prohibited from parking at areas associated with the parade portion of the campaign.

Vehicles not removed from the parade route will be towed at the owner's expense. For more information, people can check out clarinda.org/band-jamboree.
