DES MOINES, Iowa - It's been busy in Iowa's sunflower and wheat fields. That's because thousands of hunters are taking part in dove hunting season, which started last Friday.

Dove hunting is accessible and exciting for all skill levels, requiring minimal gear and offering a steady stream of targets. Preseason scouting is key to ensure a successful hunt due to varying weather conditions.

Hunters are encouraged to be courteous, clean up after themselves, and introduce newcomers to the sport. Dove season runs through Wednesday, Nov. 29 with a daily bag limit of 15.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has provided a list of dove plots at iowadnr.gov./doves.
