Elderly Hamilton man injured in wreck

HAMILTON, Mo. - An elderly man is in serious condition after a wreck in Caldwell County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 84-year-old Frederick Ferola of Hamilton was driving a 2010 Honda Civic on U.S. Business Highway 36 near U.S. Highway 36.

Around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, the Patrol says Ferola failed to stop at a posted stop sign and drove into the side of a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 36.

Ferola, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the semi was unharmed.
