DES MOINES, Iowa - With fall around the corner, some Iowans are taking drastic measures with one particular bug. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the fall webworm is in abundance this time of year in southern Iowa.
Iowa DNR Forest Health Program Leader Teevon Feeley says the fall webworms create webbings on trees, so that their caterpillars can safely eat, but not everyone likes these bugs.
Feeley says webworms are typically found on hardwood trees, such as hickory, walnut, birch, cherry and willow.
