JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has officially declared October as Pork Month in the state.
This proclamation celebrates the high-quality pork produced by Missouri's dedicated pig farmers and their significant contribution to the state's economy, adding nearly $800 million annually.
Missouri ranks seventh in pork production nationally, thanks to advancements in genetics research that have led to the production of efficient and nutritious pork.
