JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 12 people died on state roads this past Labor Day weekend, including two in the KXCV/KRNW listening area.

The Patrol says one of those deaths was 18-year-old Seger Mace of Coin, Iowa, who died early Sunday evening when his motorcycle went into a skid and struck a pick-up towing a trailer in a Nodaway County intersection.

Then this past Friday, 47-year-old Tomas Ramos of El Paso, Texas, died when he lost control on a curve on Mitchell Road east of St. Joseph.

While it was another deadly year on roadways, the patrol reports that there were no fatal boating crashes over the Labor Day counting period and no one drowned.

The 2023 counting period began Friday evening at six o’clock and ended at midnight Monday.
