ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - As more than 15,000 people die a year in Missouri from heart disease, the St. Joseph Public Library wants to do it's part and help bring that number down.
That's why, with a grant from the American Heart Association, the Library has purchased blood pressure monitors and AED machines for all four library branches.
The library is also partnering with community organizations to provide pop-up produce stands on a weekly basis. The pop-up stands will be taking place at a library branch once a week from now through October.
Free fresh produce is available for food stamp recipients. For more information or to inquire about times and locations for the pop-up stand, call 816-232-4038.
