ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The 27th annual Pumpkinfest returns this weekend in St. Joseph. What started as a modest fundraiser for the Pony Express Museum has evolved into a St. Joseph tradition.

Recently, the Pony Express Museum teamed up with Schweizer Orchards to revamp Pumpkin Mountain, introducing a unique display of pumpkins.

This year's Pumpkinfest boasts a diverse lineup of performers, including Phil Vandel, the Knobtown Skiffle Band, BJ and Julia Talley's music and magic act, Will Stuck's storytelling, Truth Academy Dancers, Tori and Avery Wist, and the Whensday band.

The Gazebo will host additional entertainment, featuring Creatures by Theresa, Pony Express Therapy Dogs, the Hontz family, Benton High School Orchestra, and the new Young Student Entertainers.

Beyond the stage, visitors can expect a petting zoo, food and craft vendors, and various other attractions. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. this evening, 12:30 p.m. tomorrow and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
