DES MOINES, Iowa - If you are looking to plant a tree, now is usually the best time with adequate ground moisture and cooler temperatures.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a properly planted and maintained tree will grow faster and live longer than one that's incorrectly planted.
Urban Forestry Coordinator at Iowa DNR Emma Hanigan says it's important to water a tree in the fall, even during a drought.
