SHENANDOAH, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is teaming up with Optimal Aquafeed and the Page County Conservation Board to stock RAPP Park, just outside Shenandoah, this weekend.
Crews will stock the park this Saturday at 9 a.m. with approximately 750 rainbow trout. Trout will range from less than a pound to four pounds.
A second stocking of around 500 rainbow trout is scheduled for next month, but a specific date hasn't been announced.
Anglers keen on this unique opportunity must hold a valid fishing license and pay the trout fee, with a daily limit of five trout per licensed angler and a possession limit of 10.
Younger anglers, aged 15 or below, can fish for trout with a licensed adult, adhering to a one daily limit. This collaboration is now in its third year and continues to offer a special fishing experience for southwest Iowa anglers.
