JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program has achieved its milestone with the opening of the last of 31 replaced bridges in northern Missouri this October.
The program, addressing deteriorating and one-lane bridges, received a $20.8 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration in 2018, supplemented by $5.2 million from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
U.S. Rep. Sam Graves emphasized the importance of rural roads, while MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna highlighted the challenge of prioritizing such projects.
The design-build approach, awarded to the Lehman-Wilson team, proved efficient, completing the program one month ahead of schedule. For more details, visit MoDOT’s website.
