CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation is inviting nature enthusiasts to the 37th annual fall driving tour at the Poosey Conservation Area this Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This unique tour provides a scenic journey through gravel service roads not typically open to public vehicles, offering a chance to revel in the vibrant fall colors.
Visitors can explore forested landscapes with interpretive stops highlighted in a provided brochure. The route features some steep grades and creek crossings, which means it's best suited for vehicles with high clearance.
The leisurely pace allows participants to savor the autumn foliage and learn about conservation practices. For more information, contact MDC Forester Samantha Anderson at 660-646-6122. Maps and details are available at mdc.mo.gov.
