MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Rural Northwest Missouri Behavioral Health Consortium is set to receive a significant boost as the Health Resources and Services Administration commits $100,000 in support.

Led by Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville, the consortium aims to tackle the escalating pediatric and adolescent mental health crisis.

Partnering with the Mosaic Medical Center in Albany, Family Guidance Center, Northwest Missouri State University, New Beginnings Counseling Center, and the Northwest Missouri Cooperative Mental Health Board, the consortium will utilize HRSA’s Rural Network Planning funding.

The funds will be crucial in establishing an infrastructure to optimize resources and develop a regional behavioral health network.

The planning grant will enable the consortium to conduct a comprehensive pediatric mental health needs assessment and asset mapping.

The initiative will concentrate on six northwest Missouri counties: Andrew, Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth.
