SHENANDOAH, Iowa - Despite this weekend's cold temperatures, one Iowa city is getting ready for it's first annual fall city-wide clean-up. Shenandoah approved tomorrow's clean-up at last month's city council meeting.

City officials are optimistic that it will alleviate congestion that typically happens during the city's spring city-wide clean-up.

Tomorrow's free event for city residents is scheduled to happen at Shenandoah Sanitation off Ferguson Road between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Proof of residency is required and residents are asked to stay in their vehicles while Sanitation employees unload unwanted items. Items such as tires, batteries and paints will not be accepted.

For inquiries about items suitable for disposal, residents are encouraged to contact Shenandoah Sanitation at 712-246-3350.
