JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - According to preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation, hunters took in over 193,000 deer during the November portion of firearms deer season.
The breakdown includes over 105,00 antlered bucks, a little over 16,000 button bucks, and nearly 72,000 does. Top harvest counties were Franklin, Texas, and Howell.
While this year's harvest is three percent lower than last year, it stands two percent higher than the previous five-year average.
Archery deer hunting resumes until January 15th of next year, with additional late portions and alternative methods scheduled.
