JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Young hunters, aged six-through-15, showcased their skills during Missouri's late youth portion of the 2023 firearms deer hunting season.

Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation reveals an impressive season of 3,574 deer hunted during November 24-26. Among the hunt, 1,697 were antlered bucks, 361 were button bucks, and 1,516 were does.

Top-performing counties included Texas, Pike, Callaway, and Morgan. This year's total reflects an increase from the 2022 late youth portion harvest of 2,870 deer.
