COSBY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol believes a deer led to a single-vehicle crash that send three St. Joseph residents, including a toddler, to the hospital.
The Patrol says Thomas Simonson, 26, was driving a 2009 Toyota Matrix on Route D, north of Avenue City, with Brittany Cunningham, 34, and a three-year-old.
At 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Simonson attempted to avoid a deer by crossing the center of the road, which caused the Toyotoa to overcorrect, and leave the road before overturning.
Everyone inside the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
