ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an elderly St. Joseph woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in rural Buchanan County.
The Patrol says 70-year-old Ferol Engeman was driving a 1997 Honda Accord on 85th Road at State Highway 6, near Bessie Ellison Elementary School.
At 7:43 a.m. Wednesday, Engeman failed to yield to a 2022 Jeep Wranger on the Highway, which struck the Honda. Engeman, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at scene less than 25 minutes later.
The driver of the Jeep, 48-year-old Jessica Gummelt of Stewartsville, suffered minor injuries.
