Growing Together Iowa is offering mini grants for Master Gardener volunteer donation garden projects aimed at helping Iowans with low income access fresh produce and nutrition information.
Funded by the USDA SNAPEd Program, these grants provide up to $4,000 in funding for eligible projects. Officials with Growing Together Iowa and the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach emphasize the importance of addressing limited access to fresh fruits and vegetables for individuals relying on food pantries. Successful projects require community support, sustainable water sources, and strong partnerships with food pantries.
Applications are due by December 18th. More information, as well as applications, is available at extension.iastate.edu .
