DES MOINES, Iowa - Starting next Friday, and lasting through January 7, Iowa fishers can purchase the Missouri and Big Sioux River paddlefish license and tags.
The resident license is a little over $25 and non-residents pay $49, in addition to needing a valid Iowa fishing license.
Anglers can buy up to two tags during this period, with a limited availability of 950 resident and 50 nonresident licenses.
Purchasers will receive their license, harvest tags, and regulations in mid-January, and an electronic survey will be sent to evaluate the paddlefish season's success.
The season runs from February 1st to April 30. For more details, visit For licenses, visit gooutdoorsiowa.com. For more info about upcoming seasons, visit iowadnr.gov.
