Paige Hoffman's postseason run is reaching depths no Northwest Missouri State golfer has ever seen, and she's not slowing down.

Hoffman finished a spectacular 54-hole NCAA Central Region Championship tied for third, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Division 2 National Championship meet.

The sophomore opened the week with a career-best 68 in round one, held onto the overall lead firing one-over-par 73 on day two, and finished the tournament with an overall score of 216 – four strokes better than the next closest individual vying for an at-large bid.

Hoffman intentionally avoided leaderboard all week, and when she capped the final round, she looked to Northwest graduate assistant Lathan Croy for confirmation.

"I felt like after the first round I put myself in good position to maybe make a run at it, and I just didn't want to blow it up," Hoffman said. "That was a nice moment we got to have on the 18th green when he got to tell me 'I think you're good. We have to wait to make sure, but you should be good.' That was a really exciting moment for me."

Now Hoffman gets set to play in the NCAA Championship Meet next week at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, MO, about 30 miles from St. Louis. It's a course she played at in 2017 as part of the Iowa PGA.

"It's a business trip. It's not like going to the beach for fun. I'm actually happy that it's in the midwest. Cool that it's at a course I played when I was younger. It will be a fun experience."

Along with Hoffman, Yasmin Hang from Northeastern State and the Nebraska Kearney team will be at the NCAA Championships representing the MIAA.
