JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Revenue is gearing up to accept electronically filed state tax returns for tax year 2023, starting next Monday.
If you haven't started on your taxes yet, the Department of Revenue has some key tips to ensure a smooth tax season. If you opt for electronic filing, it is faster and direct deposit ensures quicker refunds.
Also, many Missourians may qualify for free e-filing services through the Free File Alliance, available for both federal and state returns.
Ensure all necessary documentation is included, and use the correct mailing address based on your tax situation. Understand tax credit eligibility and attach all required documentation for a seamless process.
For additional assistance, taxpayers can reach out to volunteer tax preparation programs or contact the Department of Revenue's Taxation Division directly. Remember, the due date for 2023 tax returns is April 15.
