HOLT, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a law enforcement pursuit in Clinton County ended with a crash.
A Clinton County Sheriff's Deputy noticed a 2004 Chevy Suburban speeding on U.S. Interstate 35 last Friday afternoon.
The deputy gave chase, leading to a pursuit where speeds reached 115 mph. At 3:48 p.m., the Chevy exited into a Holt rest area, striking the towed unit of a tractor trailer.
The Chevy traveled down an embankment and struck several trees before coming to a stop.
48-year-old driver, Jason Pressley of Kansas City, suffered serious injuries while a passenger, 24-year-old Kerstyn Rust of Kansas City, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
