JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri's young agricultural leaders are stepping up to make a difference in their communities.
Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn announced that 17 youth organizations across the state have been awarded 2024 Building Our American Communities grants.
In the KXCV/KRNW listening area, three 4-H Clubs made the list. They are the Foundation Creation 4-H Club and 40-Ville 4-H Club in Maysville, as well as the Shelby 4-H Club in Brookfield.
Each will receive $500 for their community service projects. Director Chinn emphasized the importance of nurturing a strong passion for agriculture among young people.
The projects, ranging from upgrades to existing facilities to community center enhancements, exemplify the leadership and generosity of Missouri's youth.
Recipients must complete their projects by August 1. To learn more about the grant program, visit agriculture.mo.gov.
