A major highway will undergo a significant closure in our listening area tonight. I-35 between Route 69 south of Cameron and Route 116 in Lathrop will close for 24 hours, starting this evening at 6:00 p.m.. until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The closure is part of a bridge replacement project on Route H. Phillips Hardy, in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will spearhead the demolition and removal of the Route H bridge. To mitigate disruptions, a signed detour will direct traffic onto Routes 69 and 116.
During this period, access to several routes will be restricted, prompting motorists to seek alternative paths. Route H itself will be closed to through traffic from NE Estep Road to U.S. Route 69, starting Monday, with completion slated for November 2024.
