Northwest Missouri State University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is gearing up to host country music artist Rissi Palmer as part of its Black History Month celebrations.
Palmer is known for her significant contributions to country music and as the host of Apple Music Country's "Color Me Country" radio show. She will share her journey and insights with students during two workshops and a concert this Thursday. The workshops, scheduled for 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., will delve into Palmer's experiences in country music and the art of songwriting. The 7:30 p.m. concert at the Charles Johnson Theater promises an intimate performance and storytelling session.
All events are open to the public and free of charge, made possible through support from the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Missouri Arts Council, and Northwest's College of Arts and Sciences.
