HAMBURG, Iowa - Charges have been filed in connection with a fatal accident that occurred in Iowa last month.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says 77-year-old Nancy Bartles of Rock Port is charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian, resulting in death. Authorities say Bartles was driving a pick-up truck in Hamburg on January 25.
Around 6 p.m., the truck struck 77-year-old Willie Donn Thorp of Hamber as he was carrying items to his vehicle. He would later die at the hospital. The Sheriff's Office says speed, alcohol, drugs and distracted driving were not factors.
No other details have been released.
