IA State Patrol investigating fatal head-on crash

LEWIS, Iowa - The Iowa State Patrol says one person is dead after a head-on collision in Cass County. The Patrol says 43-year-old Vincent Samuel Trabona of Louisiana was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra on Highway 6, north of Lewis.

Shortly before 6 a.m. Monday, for unknown reasons, the GMC crossed into oncoming traffic near 582nd Street, colliding with a 2019 Chevy Silverado, driven by 59-year-old Gregg Scott Cohrs of Griswold.

Cohrs, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Trabona suffered minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
