Iowa DNR offering spring seed deliveries

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources State Forest Nursery is gearing up for spring delivery, offering a wide selection of hardwood, conifer, and shrub seedlings for planting.

Orders are open until May 24, with delivery scheduled for April and May. Customers have the option to either have their seedlings shipped or pick them up directly from the State Forest Nursery.

Seedlings are packed in bundles of 25, sealed in labeled plastic bags, and are bare-root, meaning they don't come with containers or soil.

With a variety of tree species available, including 23 native hardwoods, eight evergreens, and 15 smaller trees and shrubs, customers have plenty of choices.
