MDA offering grants for specialty crops

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Agriculture is calling for applications for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, offering a chance for individuals, community organizations, and research institutions to secure funding aimed at boosting the competitiveness of specialty crops in Missouri.

Specialty crops encompass a variety of produce including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and horticulture. The grant program aims to expand market opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally, while fostering research, education, and food safety initiatives.

Interested parties have until Tuesday, March 26, to submit their applications for the upcoming fiscal year. Projects selected will be part of Missouri's State Plan, subject to USDA review and approval.
