JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Turkey season is fast approaching for hunters in Missouri, and the Missouri Department of Conservation has important dates to remember for the upcoming season.

Hunters can now apply online for the 2024 spring turkey managed hunts, with drawing results set to be posted on Friday, March 15.

The spring turkey hunting season includes the youth portion on April 6th and 7th, followed by the regular season running from April 15 to May 5.

A notable regulation change for the spring season pertains to shooting hours on private land only, extending from a half-hour before sunrise to sunset.

On public land, shooting hours will remain from a half-hour before sunrise to 1 p.m. Comprehensive details on spring turkey hunting can be found in the MDC's 2024 Spring Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information booklet.

Detailed information about turkey hunting, including managed hunt details and application procedures, can be found at mdc.mo.gov.
