ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - On Tuesday, April 2, the Rolling Hills Library will ask voters to "right-size" its tax levy.
This will reduce the overall amount by a total of 3 cents, and will also result in an end to a 20-year sunset on one half of the overall levy.
The library wants to pursue this reduction to continue to grow and modernize while providing a new location in St. Joseph.
While a new library will be built with or without the tax levy, Library Director Michelle Mears explained why lowering the levy within portions of the two counties would be stress-relieving for the library's goal.
