Route 46 at Little Tarkio Creek Bridge closes for construction

Bridge Closed

In Atchison County, the Little Tarkio Creek Bridge along Route 46 is undergoing a major transformation.

Starting today, the Missouri Department of Transportation has enlisted North Central Bridge, the task of replacing the Little Tarkio Creek Bridge. As construction kicks off, Route 46 will be temporarily closed at the bridge site. To guide motorists through this period, a designated detour will be in effect, directing traffic along Routes 59, 136, and N.

The project is slated for completion by the end of May 2024. The initiative also encompasses the replacement of the bridge over the Pike Creek Drainage Ditch on Atchison Route 111. This phase is set to commence once the Little Tarkio Bridge work wraps up, with the entire project expected to conclude by December 2024.
