Iowa teen seriously injured in Nodaway County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an Iowa teen was seriously injured in a Nodaway County wreck.

The Patrol says the 16-year-old from Emerson was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Passat on State Highway 46, three miles north of Skidmore. Just before 7:00 p.m. Friday, the Volkswagen traveled off the road, causing the teen to overcorrect. The vehicle would return to the road before travelling off the road again, overturning, striking a concrete culvert and Missouri Department of Transportation sign, and ejecting the teen.

The teen was taken to Mosaic Medical Center with serious injuries.
