COLUMBUS, Neb. - Nebraska Public Power District is embarking on a comprehensive inspection initiative to ensure the safety and reliability of its power distribution infrastructure statewide.
NPPD is inspecting wood poles on its distribution and subtransmission systems.
These inspections, slated for completion by the end of June, will involve ground line excavation, thorough inspection, and necessary rehabilitation treatments.
The objective is to proactively identify and address decay in poles to prevent potential hazards.
Simultaneously, NPPD has contracted Osmose Utility Services to conduct wood pole inspections on its transmission system, a process set to continue until June.
Complementing these efforts, NPPD line crews will utilize helicopters to patrol transmission lines aerially and UTVs for ground patrols.
Concerned residents or stakeholders are encouraged to reach out to NPPD at 1-877-ASK-NPPD for inquiries or assistance.
