Two Northwest Missouri State University students and two faculty members have been recognized for their outstanding achievements by the Missouri Society of Health and Physical Educators.
Courtney Kennedy, a senior physical education major from Platte City, was named the Outstanding Major of the Year at organization's fall conference. This marks the second consecutive year that a Northwest student has received this prestigious award. Kennedy joins Abagale Lingle as a recipient of this esteemed recognition.
Meanwhile, Jake Waters, a senior physical education major and health education minor from Olathe, Kansas, was honored as the Health Education Major of the Year.
On the faculty front, Dr. Matthew Symonds received the Executive Director Award. Dr. Jodie Leiss was selected as MOSHAPE's Scholar of the Year. This prestigious award highlights Leiss's exemplary professional leadership, teaching prowess, and remarkable scholarship, further solidifying her reputation as a distinguished figure in the field.
