STANBERRY, Mo. - A 44-year-old man from Stanberry has been indicted by a federal grand jury for the illegal possession of an unregistered sawed-off shotgun.
According to the two-count indictment returned by the grand jury this week, Erin Graves was found in possession of a Remington 20-gauge shotgun with a barrel length of less than 18 inches on January 15.
Graves faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing an unregistered firearm. Federal law prohibits individuals convicted of a felony from owning firearms or ammunition.
Graves has a significant criminal history, with five prior felony convictions for stealing, two for driving while suspended or revoked, two for tampering with a motor vehicle, two for burglary, and prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
The investigation was conducted by the ATF, in collaboration with the Gentry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Northwest Missouri Drug Task Force.
