CLARINDA, Iowa - The Clarinda Lied Public Library is on a mission to ignite a love for reading in young minds across the area through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

This initiative, founded in 1995 by the iconic singer-songwriter Dolly Parton, aims to foster early childhood literacy by providing free books to children under 5.

Parton herself expressed the importance of nurturing dreams through books, stating, “The seeds of these dreams are often found in books.”

With a vision to empower children to reach their full potential, the Imagination Library program sends a new book every month to enrolled children, preparing them for success as they enter kindergarten.

Thanks to funding from the Clarinda Public Library Foundation, families in select zip codes can participate in this remarkable program at no cost.

Parents in the 51632, 51656, 51631, 51651, and 51637 zip codes are encouraged to register their children either online at imaginationlibrary.com or in person at the Clarinda Lied Public Library.

By partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the Clarinda community is investing in the future of its children, planting seeds of imagination and curiosity that can flourish for a lifetime.
