MARYVILLE, Mo. - The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes hit Nodaway County earlier this week. The first tornado touched down just east of Maryville at 8:50 a.m. this past Tuesday.
Officials say that the preliminary damage survey shows it was an EF-0 tornado that was on the ground for about three miles with estimated winds of 75 mph. There were no injuries reported from this tornado.
The second tornado, an EF-0, touched down just west of Hopkins and was only on the ground for a minute, with winds at 90 mph. The tornado did cause one injury.
