Renowned cultural expert visiting Lied Public Library

CLARINDA, Iowa - Get ready to embark on a journey into the heart of Japanese culture at Lied Public Library on April 20 at 1 p.m.

Renowned cultural expert Takeshi Hayasaka will lead an enchanting workshop on Furoshiki, a traditional eco-friendly tool deeply embedded in Japanese heritage.

Takeshi will bring a treasure trove of cultural knowledge and experiences to Clarinda. In this workshop, participants will delve into the art of Furoshiki, discovering its myriad uses such as gift wrapping and creating stylish bags.

Through hands-on engagement with the fabric, attendees will explore its versatility and unravel the rich cultural significance woven into each fold.
