SHENANDOAH, Iowa - Next month, Shenandoah will once again come together to celebrate the abilities of all individuals at the 9th Annual Shenandoah Disability Awareness Walk.

Organized by the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association, along with Nishna Productions and the Depot Restaurant, the event is set for June 1, starting at 11 a.m.

Originally created nine years ago to coincide with May as Disability Awareness Month, the walk aims to highlight the needs of the disabled community.

The walk kicks off at the Depot Deli, winding its way through downtown Shenandoah before heading to Priest Park and looping back to the Depot.

Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in, with volunteers still needed to assist with various tasks, including serving as crossing guards and providing support along the route.

For those interested in volunteering or sponsoring, contact S-C-I-A at 712-246-3455. Registration forms can also be found on the SCIA website or Facebook page.
